Roy Mack "Jim" Burroughs - age 87, passed away November 30, 2019 in Chapmansboro, TN.

Mr. Burroughs is preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Scott Burroughs.

Survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Dorothy Burroughs; children, Martha Crouch (Bob), Judy Kiertzner, (Charles Comstock), James Roy Burroughs (Carla), Jason T. Burroughs (Tina), Brenda Brunner; grandchildren, Joshua Widner, Jerimy Widener (Jacqueline), Robby Crouch (Rachel), Eric Burroughs (Ashley), Cassandra Burroughs Thomas (Mike), Nikki Hilbert; sisters, Madeline Toombs, Bonnie Burroughs Jones; brother, Ronnie Burroughs 9 great-grandchildren and numerous other family members.

Known as Jim, Jimmy, and Pop, his life was dedicated to his wife and family.

In 1960, while working as a dynamite foreman on I-40 West, he discovered the idyllic town of Kingston Springs. It was in the small and safe community that he and his wife Dorothy chose to settle with their children.

He worked many long hours to provide for his family. In his limited free time, he loved raising beagle pups, gardening, hunting, fishing and cuddling his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. After raising their family, he and Dorothy moved to Chapmansboro, TN.

He was best known for his love and devotion to Dorothy, his wife of sixty-five years. They are fondly called "The Love Birds" by their children. His retirement was spent taking care of her (and she of him), a job he gladly embraced.

He leaves a vacancy that cannot be filled, and he will be greatly missed.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at West Harpeth Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Walker officiating. Burial to follow at Bluff View Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers include: Jerimy Widener, Robby Crouch, Eric Burroughs, Mike Thomas, Donnie Jones, Wayne Simmons.

Visitation with the family will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at West Harpeth Funeral Home.
