Sarah Engels

Sarah Lanier Engels of Nashville, Tenn., passed away at St. Thomas West on Saturday, December 24, 2022; she was 101 years old.

Sarah was preceded in death by her husband; Robert B. Engels, her daughter; Judith L. Engels, and sister-in-law; Cynthia A. Engels. She is survived by son; Larry B. Engels, grandson; Bret A. Engels, son-in law; Grady Ring, niece; Dr. Susan Carpenter, and other nephews and nieces.

Sarah was a founding member of Belle Meade United Methodist church. She taught piano lessons and was a caregiver to many family members. Sarah enjoyed travel and was a treasure and inspiration to her family and her numerous friends. She volunteered at St. Thomas Hospital for 50 years.

A celebration of life service will be held at St. Paul Senior Living Community at a later date. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Belle Meade United Methodist Church at 121 Davidson Road, Nashville on January 28th at 1:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Belle Meade United Methodist Church or Doctors Without Borders.
