Shirley Tweedy

Shirley Ann Tweedy, of Nashville, passed away on July 5, 2022, at the age of 86. She was born in Nashville, on November 5, 1935, to the late Clifford Kelly Vaughn and Francis Geneva Hay Vaughn Yeargin. Shirley enjoyed tending to her flowers. She was a gifted artist who enjoyed drawing and painting. Above all, Shirley enjoyed spending time with her beloved family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She was deeply loved and will be missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her children, Teresa “Terri” Tweedy Burns and William “Sam” Tweedy; siblings, Clifford “Sonny” Vaughn and Brenda Janet Byrum; and stepfather, William Nugent Yeargin.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving sons, Robert “Jef” Tweedy and Paul Allen Tweedy (“Missy”); brother, Barry Lyndell Vaughn; grandchildren, Chad Dean Burns, Laura “Beth” Piazza (“Tony”), Devin Chase Tweedy, Hanna Nicole Tweedy, Jacob Allen Tweedy (Macy); great-grandson, Dyer Allen Tweedy; honorary son-in-law, Paul Gillespie Hyde; her greatest love of 33 years, Dallas Ferand Morgan; and the Morgan family.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 9, 2022, from 11:00AM until 2:00PM at West Harpeth Funeral Home located at 6962 Charlotte Pike in Nashville. A Funeral Service will begin at 2:00PM. Following the service, Shirley will be laid to rest in the Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.
