Tonie Duffy

Tonie Katherine Duffy, 77, of West Nashville, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 22, 2024. She was born in Nashville on March 10, 1947, to the late Charlie Ben and Mary Katherine Hurt Thompson. Tonie was a graduate of Hillwood High School. She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Park Avenue Baptist Church. She enjoyed aimlessly driving, puzzle books, and her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Tonie was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; sister, Diane Owen (Tony); brothers Albert Thompson and Charles Thompson; and daughter-in-law, Jeannie Duffy.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her sons, Daryl Duffy and Hugh Duffy; grandchildren, Ella, Parker, Jackson, Addilyn, and Layla; sister, Connie Russell; brothers, Tim Thompson (Janie) and Paul Thompson; sisters-in-law, Pam Thompson and Kathryn Thompson; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

The family will receive friends from 4:00PM until 8:00PM on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at West Harpeth Funeral Home located at 6962 Charlotte Pike in Nashville. Additional visitation will be held on Friday, July 26, 2024, from 11:00AM until 12:00PM at West Harpeth. A Celebration of Tonie’s Life will begin at 12:00PM on Friday in the Chapel at West Harpeth. Tonie will be laid to rest in the Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery in a private service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Tonie’s honor to one of the following organizations that were special to Tonie: Nashville Rescue Mission, Nashville Humane Association, Second Harvest Food Bank, or the Salvation Army.
