Peggy Garton

April 5, 1958 — April 19, 2022

Peggy Lou Garton, 64, of Antioch TN went home to be with her Lord, as well as those who went before her on Tuesday, April 19, 2022.   She leaves a huge hole in the hearts of her family and friends who were always entertained by her actions and beautiful spirit.  She truly brought the life to the party. If Peggy was in the crowd, one knew it within seconds.  She was beloved by everyone who ever met her, a best friend to all walks of life. No matter the circumstance, you'd always leave with a story of something funny/crazy Peggy did while you were with her.  Peggy loved country music, her labradoodles and “playing in the dirt” making everything beautiful.  She was always full of hugs and huge smiles, she loved cooking in her “kettle”, singing to the radio.  She never met a stranger.  If you didn’t know Peggy you missed a gem; if you did know Peggy, you will never forget her.

Peggy was born in Confluence Pennsylvania, and later found roots in Nashville TN.  She married her soul mate, David Garton, in 2012.  The two made their home in Antioch TN.  Peggy was known and loved by many.  Peggy found a home in Two Rivers Campground and worked for them for years.  She would bop from campsite to campsite making sure everyone was happy and had what they needed.  She was full of energy and life.  She never stopped.  She spent years behind the curtain at the Grand Ol Opry helping Mel McDaniel get ready for his shows.  Everybody loved her.  Most recently Peggy worked as a bartender and cook at the VFW and also had her own house cleaning service.  All of her customers raved about the superb job that she did for them.  Peggy loved life.  Her greatest joy in life were her dogs and her friends.

Peggy is survived by her sons Keith (Annie) “Spuddy” Ream; Chart Brown and cherished grandchildren, Lilyonna and River Ream.  Her sister, Sherry (Barry) Painter; nieces, Mendy and Sony.  Her sister-in-law Muriel Glisan, nieces and nephews.  Peggy was proceeded in death by her husband, David Garton; her brother, Terry Glisan; her mother: Marable Martin Glisan; and father, Van Grove.

Go fly high on that mountain Peggy Lou.  Your work on earth is done!  A celebration of life service is being planned Saturday, May 28th, 1:00pm - 4:00pm at The Troubadour, 2416 Music Valley Drive, Nashville, TN.
