Robert Abbott

Robert L “Bob” Abbott, age 89, passed on December 24th, 2022. He is proceeded in death by his parents, Leonard and Bessie Lovett Abbott, brother Vaughan Abbott, and sisters Elizabeth Higgs and Bessie Ruth Jones. Bob is survived by his wife of 63 years, Trudy Abbott, bother, James Rabun Abbott, and his sons John and Hal (Karen) Abbott, as well as his six grandchildren: Anna Abbott, Caroline Abbott, Courtney (Mark) Mitchell, Harrell Abbott jr., John Harmon Abbott, and Laura Abbott. 

Bob retired from Carolina Freight Trucking and was a member of the Church of Christ. 

Visitation will be held on Jan. 3rd, 2023 at West Harpeth Funeral Home from 9 am to 11:30am with a celebration of life following. Interment will follow services at the Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to either Tunnel to Towers or Wounded Warrior project.
