Ruby Jo Jackson

Ruby Jo Jackson of Nashville, TN, passed away on February 22nd, 2023, at the age of 95 years old. She was born on August 8th, 1927, to parents, Marvin, and Effie Jackson. Ruby was a graduate of Charlotte High School and after retiring from American General, spent her time quilting, solving word searches, and helping with church activities at the Charlotte Heights Church of Christ. Ruby was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt, family leader, and sister in Christ who loved God and exemplified a faithful servant of God.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin, and Effie Jackson; her faithful husband of 55 years, Hooper Jackson; Her son, Jerry Jackson; Grandson, Brett Diviney; Brother, Emmitt Jackson; And sisters, Mildred Glasgow, Sarah Pentecost, and Betty Cope.

Ruby leaves behind her daughters, Sharon (Doug) Downing, Ava (Bill) Kofahl, and Jamie (Carlos) Wells; Her grandchildren, Todd Jackson, Richard Downing, Tracey Downing, Wade Jackson, Paige Bartlett, Brad Downing, Lora Beth Rayburn, and Whitley Wells; Along with 8 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great-grandchildren, and her numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at West Harpeth Funeral Home on February 27th, 2023, from 4-8pm and again on February 28th, 2023, from 12-1pm. A funeral service will begin at 1pm the same day. Burial will be at 2:30, following the service, at Harpeth Hills Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Todd Jackson, Wade Jackson, Richard Downing, Matthew Plunk, Ned Bartlett, and Alex Jeffreys.

Honorary pallbearers will be Paige Bartlett, Lora Beth Rayburn, Tracey Downing, Whitley Wells, Brad Downing, and Brett Diviney (posthumous).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Churches of Christ Disaster Relief in Mrs. Ruby Jackson’s name.
