Ruth Hamer

Mrs. Ruth R. Hamer of Nashville, Tennessee passed away February 20, 2023, at the age of 98.  She was born in Primm Springs, TN to Harmon Henry Russell and Annie Lou Mayberry Russell.  Mrs. Hamer is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bud Hamer; daughter, Beverly Hamer; son, David (Patty) Hamer; brothers, Thomas and Carl Russell; sisters, Gladys Primm and Dorothy Pruitt.  She is survived by her sister, Willie B. (AJ) Coates; grandchildren, Kalli (Mike) Litchfield, Jason Hamer; great grandchildren, Jayden, Brayden, Nevaeh, and Jayse; many wonderful nieces and nephews.

Ruth was a beautiful and loving person inside and out.  She enjoyed doing needlework and gardening; she loved flowers and birds; and had a special place in her heart for animals, especially her dogs.  She was the best grandmother in the world and will always be remembered as an angel on earth who is now in heaven with the Lord and her family.

Visitation for Mrs. Hamer will be on Friday, March 3, 2023, at West Harpeth Funeral Home, 6962 Charlotte Pike, Nashville, TN between the hours of 11am and 1pm.  A graveside service will follow at 2pm at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Lane, Nashville, TN.
